The first UK's AWS 900 Analogue Workstation System was sold to ICC Studios, Eastbourne, UK; a residential facility that offers thwo, fully equipped music recording studios and mastering facilities.
ICC Studios' history spans over 25 years. Originally founded as Echo Studios to produce gospel radio shows, the studio soon grew to include music recording and in 1976, ICC Studios was born.
ICC Studios clients include the BBC, Toploader, Sir Paul McCartney, Eddie Izzard, Delirious? and Spike Milligan plus many more.
ICC Studios are now able to mix in 5.1 surround sound using the AWS 900 in Studio 1. The first project to take advantage of this extra functionality is a live Jonathan Viera DVD, due to be release in June 2005.

Commenting on the decision to buy an AWS 900, ICC's studio manage Neil Costello says: "The launch of the AWS 900 caused us to completely re-think our original plans for Studio One. We'd felt that what we needed was a top quality DAW, but until SSL launched the AWS 900 there wasn't anything on the market that really satisfied our criteria. It didn't take us long to realise that the AWS 900 was perfect for our requirements because it allowed us to have all our inputs in one box -and have the unit located in the centre of the room, which is where the clients want it. It gives us the best of both worlds - an easy to operate analogue front end combined with a high quality digital controller and SSL's sonic excellence."
